Q&A

Which ISOtunes model is your current favorite & why?

The Aware ear muffs are one of my favorites. Being able to hear when my apprentice needs me, but the noise canceling feature for when I'm working on the saw or sander is wonderful.

What do you typically listen to on your ISOtunes?

My music choices depend on the project I'm working on – if I'm working large builds with challenging components I like island Reggae like Stick Figure. If I'm working in a large epoxy pour that I need to be relaxed with I listen to bands like AHI to mellow me out.

Why are you an ISOtunes' brand ambassador?

ISOtunes cares about the customer. When I first started wearing ISOtunes the earbuds I was using were a bit too large for my small ears. ISOtunes immediately sent out the smallest replacement parts, and in addition sent me a variety. While I'd like to say this was unique to me it's not – I've heard over and over again how customers have reached out for various reasons and have been pleased with the results. The quality of the products doesn't hurt, either haha!

What inspired you to get into your chosen industry?

Need. When you're low income you find ways to make do. I learned how to build to furnish my home.

What is the most challenging part of your line of work?

Staying ahead. Being a pioneer of sorts challenges me to never become stagnant in order to stay relevant.

How did you become a content creator?

Realizing something that came easy for me (woodworking, art, epoxy) was a challenge for others inspired me to share how to create. In addition, I struggled with depression and feeling less than combined with a rare disease. I found that by sharing all of the above folks felt more connected to me, and me to them. Hence the continued drive to share content.

How do you stay motivated in times of chaos & stress?

Music. Art. Building. I remind myself all the time that "I have made it through worse" and can take breaks, breathe, and regroup.

What is something you are most proud of?

Me. I know it sounds funny to say that, and my second answer is my family, but me. I have gone from feeling like nothing to running a sustainable and successful business.

Words to live by?

1. Build more than furniture. Build confidence, strength, and skills. 2. Embrace your weird. What makes you feel weird is often what makes you shine.

Fun fact about you.

I'm a natural blonde. Platinum white ha! I show people pictures and they are shocked.

Which job has been the most challenging for you?

The job of having confidence in myself and the work I'm producing.

What are future goals as your career grows?

Currently I am wrapping up a project that will help thousands of folks learn about the medium I love. My aim is to remove the comment "I've always wanted to, but I'm scared..." This [project] will forever be something in my life I've always wanted to do. And catapult my business and name on a national level.

How would you describe your perfect day?

Waking up to fresh coffee smells, snuggles on the porch, and then walking to my shop in the back yard and creating the day away.

When do you feel most at home?

When I'm allowing my brain to expand on ideas. Some Southern Cross playing in the background mixed with some classic jazz just flowing over me.

Favorite part of your daily routine.

The morning outline. I have a favorite notebook that I use everyday and watching tasks line up and drop off make me feel like I've achieved something.

Three words that describe you.

Bold. Brave. Caring.

Is there anything else you'd like to share about yourself?
